How the Test Is Administered
The Galleri® process runs in five steps from information request to result: physician consultation, blood draw, biological material transfer, cold-chain shipping and result with counseling.
Galleri® is administered with a prescription and the entire process is coordinated by Omega Genetik. The five steps below outline the journey from your request to your result.
1. Information Request and Physician Consultation
When you fill in the information request form, our team calls you with the process and pricing specific to you. The test requires a physician's prescription — if you do not have a physician, we help with physician matching. You are informed before the test and your informed explicit consent is obtained.
2. Blood Draw
A single venous blood sample (2 Streck cfDNA tubes, no fasting) is drawn. You have two options: the Omega Çare home nurse service in all 81 provinces, or our Omega Genetik Beytepe (Ankara) laboratory.
3. Biological Material Transfer
Your sample is prepared in line with Ministry of Health records and chain-of-custody rules. Regulations allow biological material to be sent abroad only by licensed centers, so the transfer is carried out by our center
4. Cold-Chain Shipping
The sample ships by medical express courier to GRAIL's CLIA/CAP-accredited laboratory in the US and is processed within 7 days of arrival.
5. Result and Counseling
The result reaches your physician in approximately 2 weeks. If no signal is detected, your result is reported as "no cancer signal detected". If a signal is detected, your physician plans the diagnostic work-up with the predicted origin (CSO); genetic counseling support is provided throughout.
