OverC®
Early detection signals across six cancer types from a single 10 mL blood draw
Rx-only — prescription screening test. Galleri® is not a diagnostic test. A positive result does not mean a cancer diagnosis; a negative result does not rule out cancer. The test does not replace the routine cancer screenings recommended by your physician. Galleri® does not detect all cancers.
OverC® is a multi-cancer early detection (MCED) test that analyzes more than 70,000 methylation regions on cell-free DNA (cfDNA) in blood using next-generation sequencing and machine learning. It screens for signals associated with lung, esophageal, colorectal, liver, pancreatic and ovarian cancers; when a signal is found, it estimates the likely tissue of origin to support the physician's diagnostic planning.
OverC® is a multi-cancer early detection test developed by Burning Rock Dx. It examines the methylation patterns of cell-free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in blood; cancer cells leave methylation marks that differ from healthy cells and carry tissue-specific information. Using the ELSA-seq technology platform and the machine-learning-based BRMERMAID® algorithm, more than 70,000 methylation regions associated with six cancer types are screened in a single analysis.
The test's performance was evaluated in THUNDER (NCT04820868), the first prospective, independent and blinded validation study of multi-cancer early detection conducted in China. The study reported 69.1% sensitivity and 98.9% specificity across the six cancer types. When a signal is detected, the tissue of origin is predicted with 83.2% accuracy (91.7% when the top two predictions are considered; Gao et al., Ann Oncol 2023). OverC® carries the CE mark and has received Breakthrough Device Designation from both the FDA and the NMPA.
No medical test achieves 100% accuracy. OverC® is not a diagnostic test; results may only be evaluated by a physician, and a definitive diagnosis is made through clinical examination and diagnostic work-up. Non-cancerous conditions — such as chronic inflammation or organ damage — can also produce abnormal methylation signals; false positive and false negative results are possible. The test does not replace guideline-recommended standard cancer screening methods.
In Türkiye the process is coordinated by Omega Genetik: home blood draw, Ministry of Health Biological Material Transfer System registration, appropriate sample shipping and post-result physician counseling are all included. Analysis is performed in Burning Rock Dx's CAP- and CLIA-accredited laboratories. If symptoms possibly related to cancer — such as an abnormal mass, hemoptysis, blood in stool, blood in urine or difficulty swallowing — have appeared within the last 30 days, we recommend seeing the relevant clinical department first instead of taking the test.

Who Is This Test For?
Eligibility is determined by physician evaluation; the lists below are general guidance.
May Be Suitable
- Adults aged 50–75
- People with a family history of cancer (blood-related or not)
- People with lifestyle risk factors such as smoking, alcohol and processed meat consumption
- People with additional risks such as HBV/HCV infection, obesity or diabetes
- People with a history of radically treated malignancy and no recurrence for more than 3 years
- People for whom traditional screening methods cannot be applied or are unsuitable
Not Suitable
- Individuals under 50 or over 75
- People who have received or are receiving cancer treatment within the last 3 years
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women
- Organ transplant, bone marrow or stem cell transplant recipients
- People who received a blood transfusion within the last 7 days
- People on immunosuppressive therapy (methotrexate, cyclophosphamide, azathioprine etc.) within the last 30 days
- People with autoimmune or hemorrhagic disorders (rheumatoid arthritis, SLE, hemophilia etc.)
- People who experienced an acute infection or inflammation within the last 14 days
How Does the Process Work?
-
1
Information Request and Eligibility Review
Fill in the form and our team will call you. Together we review your age, medical history and risk factors to confirm the test is right for you.
-
2
Blood Draw
A single peripheral blood tube (10 mL) is drawn; no fasting required. Available through the Omega Çare home nurse service in all 81 provinces or at the Omega Genetik Beytepe (Ankara) laboratory.
-
3
Sample Transfer
The sample is prepared under Ministry of Health Biological Material Transfer System registration and chain-of-custody rules, and shipped to the laboratory at room temperature in appropriate packaging.
-
4
Laboratory Analysis
cfDNA is screened across more than 70,000 methylation regions on the ELSA-seq platform; the BRMERMAID® algorithm calculates the cancer signal score. The analysis is monitored through 16 quality-control steps.

5
Result and Physician Counseling
The report is reviewed together with your physician. If a signal is detected, a road map for further examination and diagnostic planning is drawn up; the decision always remains with your physician.
Sample Type
